How do I apply?
To apply for this Advanced Lecture Course, please download the course registration form (4 pages) and submit along with a copy of your CV (2 pages including photo) and a covering letter (scanned and attached as a PDF) via email to QMBSpetses08@manchester.ac.uk. The covering letter should include:
Based on applications, we will select up to 120 students for participation. Individuals will be informed of the result of their application via email by 31st May 2008. Successful applicants will then be able to register by paying the registration fee.
A restricted number of travel grants will be available to applicants who cannot obtain funding from other sources. Participants wishing to apply for a travel grant must complete the course registration form, specifying which grant they wish to apply for, including in their covering letter their justification for their request for financial support. More information on the different types of travel grants available can be found here.
Who can apply?
This advanced lecture course is aimed primarily at senior PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and junior academics (within five years of obtaining PhD) from all nationalities. Appropriate background knowledge is expected and you must be fluent in English. Applications from colleagues in industry are welcome (special rates apply); please contact us for details.
How much does it cost?
If your application is successful, you will need to pay a registration fee of €500. This includes 8 nights’ shared accommodation on Spetses (Wed 10th Sep – Thurs 18th Sep) and two meals a day (breakfast and lunch). The deadline for registration is 30th June, 2008.
Travel to and from Greece, transfer to the Island of Spetses, dinner and extra nights' accommodation are not included.
