Biofuels Cluster

This project aims to investigate the enzymatic pathways for the deconstruction of lignin, a by-product of wood processing. This work aims to develop clean, biological processes to unlock the potential value of lignin as a sustainable feedstock for low emission transport fuel and valuable chemicals production. As part of the CSIRO Energy Transformed Cluster on Biofuels, The University of Manchester partnership brings experience and expertise in the development of biotechnological solutions for industrial processes.
