The covering letter should also include:

  • Reason for selecting this course

Eligibility:

Senior PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and junior academics (within five years of
obtaining a PhD) can apply for one of the following grants:

  • European applicants:
  • Individuals from 43 countries in Europe can apply for a FEBS Youth Travel Grant (YTF). YTF grants cover travel, registration fee and all living expenses. The Organisers of the Advanced Lecture Course will select appropriate candidates, who will receive an application form issued by the FEBS Treasurer.

    Applicants should -

    • either be registered as a student at an institution of higher learning in a country where there is a FEBS Constituent Society or be a post-doctoral researcher (within five years of having completed a PhD thesis) at such an institute.
    • be a member of a national FEBS Constituent Society.
    • not have received a grant from the Youth Travel Fund to attend an Advanced course in the current year.

  • African applicants:
  • Special funds for African participants are available in the form of African Travel Grants. ATFs provide financial support towards travel, registration and accommodation.

  • All other applicants:
  • Participants who are not eligible for YTFs or ATFs may still apply for financial assistance; please tick the 'Other Travel Grants' box on the course registration form. We will assess what other grants may be appropriate, but cannot guarantee that we will be able to help you find funding. Please therefore try to identify funding support yourself, either from within your institute, from a scientific society, or from some other source.
