To train with MBEC you must first meet our eligibility criteria. Please ensure you are:

  • A student, researcher, academic or technical member of staff at a UK higher education institution
  • A technical member of staff in a scientific research company.

The review process

All requests will be reviewed and approved by our project team. We will assess the scope, feasibility, projected costs and safety of your request. International applications will be subject to UK visa requirements. Training dates will be offered subject to team capacity and equipment availability. If we need further information regarding your project, a member of our team will contact you. We aim to respond within ten working days.

Terms and conditions

  1. UK travel and accommodation costs are at the discretion of the MBEC team.
  2. All training and access requests are subject to project team approval and team capacity. Secondment lengths of up to a maximum of two weeks will be considered.
  3. Student access requests are subject to supervisor approval.
  4. MBEC must be acknowledged on any publications where the underlying work utilised MBEC facilities.
  5. Dates for training are subject to equipment and staff availability.
